The Carolina Elite Cobras were awarded the Progress Award from the United Soccer Leagues Friday night. The USL hosted its Hall of Fame & Award Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort & Spa, honoring the teams and individuals who have helped the USL maintain its place for nearly 30 years as the largest organization of elite-level soccer leagues in North America.
This is the second year in a row the Cobras have been recognized by the league, winning last year's Rookie Franchise of the Year Award. For more information on the event you can go to W-League website.

DeVita Earns Invite To U.S. U-20 National Team Camp
Greenville, S.C. – Furman women's soccer standout Stephanie DeVita has been invited to the United States U-20 National Team's training camp November 24- December 1, at the United States Soccer National Training Center at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
DeVita, a sophomore, tallied 15 goals, including seven match-winners, and added nine assists in 23 matches this season. The Simpsonville, S.C., native and Hillcrest High School product captured first team All-Southern Conference honors and SoCon Tournament MVP accolades this season while leading the Paladins to a 17-4-2 record and the league's regular season and tournament titles.
Sandy Burris, head coach of the Carolina Elite Cobras W League Team, who Devita plays for in the summer, said that the organization is very proud of Steph and happy that she has this opportunity. She also adds, "Steph works very hard and is the ultimate team player. She has earned the chance to prove that she belongs on the highest levels and I know she will make us all proud.
Stephanie DeVita stated that she was really excited to have this opportunity. "I have always dreamed of this and now it is actually happening". Devita added that playing in the W-League was extremely helpful for her preparing for this season and playing with the cobras was awesome and being able to play soccer all summer long on with such a great team was a blast.
DeVita joined the Cobras for the 2013 season and was immediately an important part of a team that made it to the W-League final four in only its second season. In two seasons at Furman, she has netted 34 goals and registered 13 assists. The 2012 SoCon Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year ranks in the school's career top 10 in goals, total points and match-winning goals. She has helped Furman to a combined 33-7-5 mark in two seasons.

The Carolina Elite Cobras welcome new partners St. Francis and MY 102.5 to the team. St Francis will be the official sports medicine providers for the Cobras and MY 102.5 joins the Cobras family as the exclusive media partners for radio.
"We are of course thankful and very very excited to partner with MY 102.5 and St Francis," Cobras President Ewell Gordon said. "Working along with well known business and organizations in the local area is absolutely fantastic."
The Cobras look forward to continuing to help grow the game for women in South Carolina. And the organization is excited about its growth since moving to the Greenville area.

Texas Roadhouse Greenville Becomes Official Marketing Partner

Texas Roadhouse Greenville and the Carolina Elite Cobras have just agreed to terms that elevates Texas Roadhouse Greenville from sponsor to Official Marketing Partner Status.
"We are very excited to partner with Texas Roadhouse. This is a great development and an awesome partnership." Cobras owner Ewell Gordon said. "In addition to our partnernship, we will be joining Texas Roadhouse at events throughout the community whenever possible. We are looking at becoming an active part in the Greenville community alongside Texas Roadhouse and it is something we are both really looking forward to."
